Meilleurtaux.com continues its diversification through the acquisition of MerciHenri.com

Meilleurtaux.com, a leading French provider of advice on mortgage solutions backed by Equistone Partners Europe, has announced the acquisition of the insurance comparison website MerciHenri.com through its holding company Finizy. MerciHenri.com (formerly LeComparateurAssurance.com) specialises in the comparison of health, housing, car and motorcycle insurance. Christophe Triquet, founder of MerciHenri.com, will join the management of Meilleurtaux.com Group to lead its property, casualty and health insurance division.

Having negotiated €7.2bn of new mortgages on behalf of its clients in 2015 and recorded 2.8 million unique visits on its website in September 2016, Meilleurtaux.com has grown to become the leading French comparator of loans, both online and through agencies. It has also developed a strong presence as a comparator and broker within the loan insurance market. This acquisition marks Meilleurtaux.com’s third investment in the last two years following the acquisitions of Choisir-ma-banque (2014) and Préféo (2016), in addition to the launch of its dedicated professional loans provider Meilleurtauxpro.com earlier this year. With the launch of Meilleureassurance.com in June, Meilleurtaux.com demonstrated its desire to expand its services into the health, property & casualty market; the acquisition of MerciHenri.com will thus enable Meilleurtaux.com to enhance its online tools and comparison solutions in this market.

MerciHenri.com, which has served over 3 million customers since its inception in 2011, is the only insurance comparison website within the French market whose offering extends beyond price comparisons. It enables customers to filter their search criteria according to their budget and desired level of protection and services, as well as the availability of insurance agents or brokers to provide individually tailored assistance locally. Its website, which receives around 1 million unique visits every month, offers an immediate comparison of more than 80 insurers and lists more than 1,500 insurance brokers, agents and local advisors.
