Acquisition for perimeter protection specialist Heras: Equistone portfolio company acquires Danish SER Hegn

Heras, a leading provider of perimeter protection solutions headquartered in the Netherlands, acquires SER Hegn, a Danish specialist in fencing and perimeter protection systems. The acquisition of SER Hegn will enable Heras to further strengthen its position in the Scandinavian market.

Founded in 1952, Heras provides a broad portfolio of mobile and permanent perimeter protection solutions, including fencing systems, hostile vehicle mitigation barriers and electronic perimeter detection equipment, all of which can be tailored to specific customer needs. In addition, Heras offers its customers in the construction, public authorities, events and commerce sectors a range of supplemental services such as installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair. With both production facilities and sales offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, the UK and now also in Denmark, Heras has over 1,100 employees and generates annual revenue of EUR 220 million.

Funds advised by Equistone acquired Heras from the Irish construction material producer CRH Plc in July 2019. With the acquisition of SER Hegn, Equistone’s and Heras‘ joint strategy of driving consolidation in the heavily fragmented European market will be accelerated.

SER Hegn offers bespoke installation, maintenance and repair services and has a strong regional presence with a focus on customer orientation. The merger with Heras will enable additional sales and logistics capabilities and grow the company’s Scandinavian presence.
