THORSTEN KLAPPROTH WAS an unusual Equistone portfolio company CEO in that he was introduced as part of a management buy-in transaction. Part of Equistone’s attraction to the asset was the fact that KWC Group’s management structure was ‘light’, and that its brand and strategy was fragmented, and yet it was still the Swiss and German market leader.
In this film Mr Klapproth, who is now Chairman of the Board, explains that the strategic focus is on simplifying the group’s structure under one brand, one vision and one culture, while aligning processes and driving for digitalisation, sustainability and design-excellence.
KWC Group managed to grow through the pandemic and, in this interview, hE explains the shared ambition in the face of various wider challenges, including input price inflation and labour constraints. ☐
Frank Schnatz has become the new CEO, having been co-CEO for more than a year. He has taken over from Thorsten Klapproth, who continues to support the company as Chairman of the Board.
