Salter Housewares

Salter is the leading brand in the UK consumer scales market and also occupies strong positions in a number of key international markets.

Salter was founded in the late 1700s in Bilston, England, by Richard Salter. In 1897, Salter invented the first personal weighing scale.

Based in Kent (UK) and with operations in the USA and Canada, the company generates sales in 100 countries worldwide.

THE EXIT

Equistone realised its investment in Salter Housewares, selling to HoMedics, the US-based personal wellness company, generating an IRR of approximately 70%.

Salter will operate as an independent business, retaining its current management team and Salter brand name. The acquisition provides HoMedics with a unique platform to enter the European housewares and wellness market.
